What Data Does SpeakerView Collect?
Short answer: nothing. SpeakerView doesn’t collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information, anywhere. Everything happens directly on your device. This page is a quick-answer summary — the full legal policy is our Privacy Policy.
No accounts, no sign-in
There’s no account to create and nothing to log into. SpeakerView doesn’t know who you are, and it doesn’t need to.
Your speech content never leaves your device
When you import a .txt speech file, SpeakerView reads it directly from your device’s file system. It is never copied to a server, uploaded anywhere, or shared with anyone. It stays exactly where you saved it, and the copy SpeakerView holds in memory disappears when you close the app or import a different file.
Translation happens on your device too
Translation is powered by Apple’s on-device Translation framework. Your speech text is processed locally on your iPhone’s own hardware — it is never sent to any external server, including Apple’s own servers, for translation. Your settings stay local
Preferences like font size, color mode, and timer settings are saved locally on your device using iOS’s standard on-device storage mechanism (UserDefaults). They’re not synced to a cloud account, not shared with anyone, and not transmitted anywhere.
No analytics, no ads, no tracking
SpeakerView contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting service, no advertising network, and no tracking of any kind. It doesn’t know how often you open the app, what you write, or how you use it. There’s simply no code in the app that would collect or send that kind of information.
No network requests during normal use
Aside from the one-time download of a translation language model over Wi-Fi (which is Apple’s system-level download, not something SpeakerView itself uploads or downloads content through), SpeakerView makes no network requests during normal use — importing files, presenting, navigating cards, and running the pacing timer all work completely offline.
Is SpeakerView safe for all ages?
Yes. Since SpeakerView collects no data from anyone, there’s nothing age-restrictive about its data practices — it’s suitable for users of all ages from a privacy standpoint.
