Restoring Your Purchase
SpeakerView is a one-time purchase app — you pay once on the App Store and it’s yours. There’s no subscription, no account to log into, and no in-app “Restore Purchases” button, because there’s nothing to restore inside the app. Instead, your purchase lives with your Apple ID on the App Store, and getting it back on another device (or after deleting it) works the same way it does for any paid app.
Reinstalling on the same iPhone
If you deleted SpeakerView and want it back:
- Open the App Store app.
- Search for SpeakerView.
- You’ll see a download/cloud icon instead of a price — this means you already own it. Tap it to reinstall at no additional charge.
If you instead see the price ($4.99) rather than a download icon, you’re most likely signed into a different Apple ID than the one you purchased with — see below.
Getting it on a new iPhone or a second device
As long as you’re signed into the same Apple ID you originally purchased SpeakerView with (Settings → [your name] at the top of the iPhone Settings app), the App Store will recognize your past purchase automatically:
- Sign in to your Apple ID on the new device.
- Open the App Store and search for SpeakerView.
- You should see the download/cloud icon instead of the price. Tap it to install — you won’t be charged again.
“The App Store is asking me to pay again”
This means the App Store doesn’t currently recognize this device/Apple ID combination as having purchased SpeakerView already. The most common cause is being signed into a different Apple ID than the one used for the original purchase (for example, a work vs. personal Apple ID, or a family member’s account). To check which Apple ID you’re signed into:
- Open Settings (the iPhone’s own Settings app).
- Tap your name at the very top.
- Confirm this is the Apple ID you used when you originally bought SpeakerView.
If you’re not sure which Apple ID made the original purchase, check your purchase history: Settings → [your name] → Media & Purchases → View Account → Purchase History — SpeakerView should be listed under the account that bought it.
Family Sharing
If Family Sharing is set up on your Apple ID and the purchaser has enabled purchase sharing, other family members can typically install SpeakerView without repurchasing. This is controlled through Settings → [your name] → Family Sharing on the purchasing account, not through SpeakerView itself.
Still being charged, or purchase not recognized?
If you’ve confirmed you’re on the correct Apple ID and the App Store still isn’t recognizing your purchase, this is an Apple App Store account issue rather than something SpeakerView itself controls. Apple’s support can look up your purchase history directly: reportaproblem.apple.com or Settings → [your name] → Media & Purchases → View Account → Purchase History. You’re also welcome to reach out via our support page and we’ll help however we can.
